A master plan study was performed in order to establish the best alternative
to enlarge the container terminal.
As a consequence of this study, the new terminal layout was defined,
together with the work necessary for its development, basically consisting
of the front extension in Dock C and the reduction of the Third Jetty.
Our Engineering firm prepared the bidding engineering project for
the works, comprising the building of a new 300 m berth, and the demolition
and removal of a portion of the third jetty in order to enlarge the
nautical maneuvering space for 300 m long large container ships.
