Project description:
Kaoten Natie, from Belgium, Montevideo Port operator, awarded Soletanche
Bachy the project and execution of a new 350 meter long, 15 meter
deep moorning dock, which will be located next to the existing pier,
and construction of 8 acres for containers in a site where there is
currently a pond.
In order to execute the works, it is necessary to stabilize the
existing pier in order to allow deepening and to stabilize areas
around the existing yards, in order to allow prior dredging of soft
material in the area where the new yards are to be built.
We elaborated the basic project, awarded by the concessionaire
in the bid phase, and the detail and construction engineering for
all the water and land works.
The whole design process was audited by the Begian company SECO,
certifier of big investment projects, and it complied with the international
standards for this type of projects.
