Project description:
In an area of Natal Port there was an old general cargo warehouse
that will become a refrigerated cargo terminal. The company J. Lauritzen
was awarded the concession contract to operate it. Existing works
had to be recycled, keeping the appearance of the place.
The existing warehouse was rebuilt in order to place a cold store
in its interior and the adjoining galleries. This cold store is
fit for -25ºC tempeartures and has a surface of 3,600m2 of
refrigerators, cooling galleries, anterooms, battery rooms and an
engine room.
We designed a general layout for the terminal and elaborated the
projects for circulation and operation pavements, dry and refrigerated
warehouse, offices, utility buildings, pier repair works, etc.
The firm developed the complete project for the civil, electrical
and sanitary works and was in charge of directing it.
